  • Oxford is currently having housing difficulties with a large number of residents simply unable to afford to buy in the City due to increases in the cost of housing. First time buyers are no longer in a situation where they can afford to take out a mortgage on a typical house.

 


 

  • Oxford is also the home to a large number of students during term times, although for a large part of their stay students are normally housed within their colleges there is still some additional pressure placed on the housing market.

 


 

  • Oxford has a very high level of homelessness in the City.

 


 

  • Oxford City Council is working to provide an additional 250 affordable homes each year and is working to let properties that are available as quickly as possible.
