  3. Check that the the water levels that help cool your car are at the correct levels and keep them topped up.
     
  4. Check the levels of your break fluid. This can be done again by consulting your owners manual, it is however usually advised that you consult a professional to get them topped up and don't try to do it yourself.
     
  5. Check your tyre pressures. The efficiency of your car will be much more effective if you have your tyres topped up to the correct level of air. The correct levels can be found in your car manual and easily altered at petrol stations. Remember that the load that you are carrying will also affect the levels of air that you need in your tyres.
     
  6. Check the thread on your tyres. There is a legal limit to the amount of tread that tyres must have to be road worthy.
     
  7. Check your windscreen wiper blades and fluid regularly to ensure that you don't get caught out the next time that there is bad weather. Again your owners guide should be able to advise on how to carry out these proceedures.
