Oxford University

There are two universities in Oxford, The University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes University. The University of Oxford is the oldest university in the English-speaking world and is always ranked within the world’s top ten universities. With a combined population of over 38,000 students from all over the world, the universities make a significant contribution to businesses in Oxford. Oxford University is divided into 38 different colleges. These are All Souls College, Balliol College, Brasenose College, Christ Church, Corpus Cristi, Exeter, Green Templeton, Harris Manchester, Hertford, Jesus, Keble, Kellogg, Lady Margaret Hall, Linacre, Lincoln, Magdalen, Mansfield, Merton, New, Nuffield, Oriel, Pembroke, St Anne’s, St Anthony’s, St Catherine’s St Cross, St Edmund, St Hilda’s, St Hugh’s St Peter’s, Somerville, Trinity, University, Wadham, Wolfson and Worcester. All of these colleges have websites and some are open to visitors. All of the teaching and tutorials of Oxford students take place within the student’s college which is also responsible for the pastoral care of students.
