The Oxford English Dictionary is widely accepted as one of the most comprehensive dictionaries available in the world. It allows users to plot the evolution of the English Language as well as finding out definitions and pronunciation guidance for the English Dictionary. The website also has a word of the day section for those interested in learning the definition of a new word each day. What makes the OED stand out is that users are not only able to find out the definition of currently used words but the way that they have evolved allowing users to gain a fantastic insight into the English Language. There is always much interest in the inclusions and exclusion of words when new versions of the dictionary are introduced, with new words reflecting not only the evolution of the English Language but of society as a whole.
